Library Grand Opening
Welcome to the Grand Opening of the Geraldine and Ralph Evans Ellwood City Public Library.
The Ellwood City Area Public Library began on January 13th, 1914 with 600 books. Gradually it grew and moved to larger quarters. In June 1928, it was established in the Masonic Building. They leave that spot now, on March 5th, 2010 to begin a new chapter in the new facility on Lawrence Avenue.
The Library is proud of their growth from those 600 books to 53,000 volumes and a patron base of 10,000, indeed a worthy accomplishment. The Library is also proud that the people of the Ellwood City Area had the insight to realize how important the Library is to the community.
Congratulations to the Director of the Ellwood City Area Public Library, Veronica Pacella, her staff and to all the patons that supported the Library.
